Farmer’s market every Tuesdays and Fridays at Helvetiaplatz (close by to the apartments). Traditional fresh food market where there are probably more nationalities represented than at any other market in Zurich. A colorful mixture of home-grown and exotic products awaits visitors.

The Kanzlei flea market is not just Zürich’s most famous, but also most notorious flea market. Frequently word gets about that one or the other market trader has camped out overnight in order to secure the best pitch when the square opens early in the morning for people to set up their stalls. At this flea market, the local inhabitants are not just able to buy treasures, but also sell them again. Here you can find everything under the sun – from fur coats to kitchen utensils, and from electronic equipment to leather bags and jewelry. Saturdays 7.20am – 4.00pm.

This remains one of my local favourites. The Saturday morning brunch is also a big hit so get in early!

Blinde Kuh is a restaurant run by blind people that offers an unusual experience of eating dinner in complete darkness. The food is good and the staff are lovely. Humbles you to eat your meal in the pitch dark and try to figure out what you’re eating just through the flavors and texture.
